Alexion and independent investigators are investigating eculizumab as a potential treatment for patients with several life-threatening and ultra-rare diseases in which complement activation plays a role and where current treatment options remain inadequate. Alexion also is developing an expanded portfolio of early-stage product candidates to treat a range of other rare and debilitating diseases.
